ECLECTIC APARTMENT BALCONY - Reveal Post

Hello friends, welcome back to my blog!
I’m thrilled to take you through the final reveal of this beautiful eclectic apartment balcony today.

In our earlier post, we explored the challenges this balcony presented and how we thoughtfully tackled them to create a functional and visually appealing space that ticks every box on our client’s wishlist. (If you missed it, you can catch up here.)

THOUGHTFUL MATERIAL SELECTION

Before we dive into the transformation, let me walk you through some of the key materials we used to bring this vision to life.

As we discussed earlier, one of the biggest challenges in this balcony was the ODU unit and the exposed drain pipes, which were taking away the beauty of the space. To conceal them seamlessly while still keeping everything easily accessible we explored quite a few ideas before finalizing a solution that was both practical and aesthetically pleasing.

For the ODU cover, we went with an openable MS (Mild Steel) door. It’s tough enough to handle outdoor weather and gives easy access for maintenance. The design includes ventilation gaps between the panels, which are super important to prevent the unit from overheating.

As for the drain pipes, we boxed them in using HDHMR ply, a moisture-resistant material perfect for outdoor use. As water was not directly coming in that area it was well suited. To make it blend in with the rest of the space, we simply painted it to match the wall appearing it simple, clean, and effective.

The client had a clear vision: they wanted an eclectic vibe but also wanted the space to feel clutter-free and easy to maintain, especially when it came to the walls. So instead of heavy wall art or décor that could gather dust, we landed on Moroccan tiles. They brought in just the right amount of charm and character while being super easy to wipe down definitely a win-win!

When it came to the overall material palette, we focused on durability and design. Granite was used for the functional zone that hosted pots thanks to its weather resistance, while the Moroccan tiles created a bold, decorative touch without any fuss. We also added wooden seating with waterproof cushions, keeping comfort in check without worrying about the weather.

All in all, the combination of these materials helped us strike that perfect balance between eclectic vibes, function, and long-term ease and truly brought this balcony to life.

BEFORE & AFTER

Now let’s dive in the most awaited part, the reveal of the space.

As you can see in this photo, the ODUs have been seamlessly concealed, and in the process, we’ve also carved out a cozy little spot to sit and enjoy some “me-time.” The once-exposed pipes are now neatly tucked away and painted to match the wall, making them blend in effortlessly with the surroundings.

The plants sit on a custom-made granite counter, which is not only super sturdy but also really easy to maintain. If you look closely, you’ll notice that the counter doesn’t touch the floor—that’s intentional! We designed it this way to keep the floor space visually open and airy, especially since the balcony wasn’t very wide. By lifting the counter off the floor, we made sure the space feels bigger and less cluttered.

And on the other side we created a feature wall by making use of Moroccan tiles. The L shape seating gives ample space for family and friends to sit and chit chat. As the pots are seamlessly organized we get a lot of open space to fit in all the requirements. As at the end mapping client requirement should be the ultimate goal.

Finally lets dive in some before and after pictures! These visuals truly showcase the dramatic change we’ve achieved in this urban balcony. From a raw, underutilized space to a vibrant, functional area that reflects the client’s vision for both comfort and style, the transformation speaks for itself. So lets just dive into the same.
